The 60th Anniversary of University of Idaho at Idaho Falls Center (UIIF) was a huge project, literally. Each poster is 44 inches tall by 32 wide. There are seven of them. Apart from the posters, this was a long time in the making…60 years. OK, all puns aside, it was a big event that I helped plan, design, and produce.
- Here’s a list of all I managed/produced:
- Logo design
- Pre-event Advertising
- Help plan the live celebration at the Museum of Idaho
- Design name badges for the event
- Invitations
- Research, scanning, and archiving of important documents regarding the history of UIIF
- Design the event program
- Design the six timeline posters, and poster detailing the Idaho Territory House of Legistature Bill No. 45 to establish the University of Idaho
- Design posters detailing each UIIF Center Executive for display at the event
- Create, research, and design the exhibit showcasing 60 years of educational technology
- Design poster of University of Idaho logos through the ages
- Collect and document pieces of educational technology history for the exhibit at the event
- Write the Alma Mater of University of Idaho in Tandy 100 BASIC language to play on the Tandy 102 portable computer in the educational technology exhibit. (Yeah…I have enough geek cred)
- Setup and control presentation slideshows, relay cameras, and projection for those unable to participate in exhibit room
- Record and produce the video of the night’s celebration event
This is the logo I created for the celebration:

Of course, everyone else wrote their name on their own.
Timeline Posters
The first poster details how University of Idaho was originally planned to be in Idaho Falls all along.
The other six posters detail each of the six decades of UIIF history.
Here’s a photo of the timeline posters in the exhibit.
And here’s the educational technology exhibit.
I was still programming the Tandy to play the song, Here We Have Idaho!.
UIIF Center Executives
The problem was that each photo was taken some time apart. In order to make them seem timeless and complementary, I chose to edit with a matching background.
This project really stretched me as a designer, researcher, and event producer. Even though I wasn’t in charge of everything, my portion was very challenging and I learned a lot!
