Play ball! It was always fun to work on projects for the Idaho Falls Chukars, even before they were the Chukars! I.E. Productions served the team for a very long-time. My first task was to create some stickers for the team (then the Padres):
It wasn’t long before the name changed to the Chukars. The Chukar is a little bird found in the region. This was my attempt at a logo.
So, they left it to those who had more experience designing sports logos. That’s just fine. I got to design the first pocket schedule for the team as the Chukars:
The 2004 season saw the team shopping around for a new place to play ball. Here’s the brochure cover for the capital campaign:
And the presentation for the proposal meetings to get a sponsor for the park. I designed this in Adobe Photoshop without the aid of any 3D modeling programs:
But, I did use 3DS Max for the buildings. I mocked up the logos in Adobe Photoshop afterward.
As any local fan can tell you, Melaleuca stepped up to the plate for naming rights as a sponsor, and the rest is history. Here is an electronic ad I created to announce opening day:
Then, for the big home opener at the new field, I was behind the outfield wall taking photos of the event with I.E. Productions President, Chad Hammond. We had a helium balloon with a remote controlled digital camera tethered so we could raise and lower it for the photos. This was before drones, but we got some great photos.
